Developing a community where all are welcome.
The purpose of the Rainbow Club is to embrace diversity and promote a culture of inclusivity in support of LGBTQ+ among the Club members. To do so, the Club will provide its members with education, discuss issues, and plan activities related to diversity, and inclusive of topics relating to LGBTQ+. — Rainbow Club Charter
Education
Jason Flatt, Director for the Center for Health Disparities Research at UNLV, spoke to our group about his research into the health concerns of LGBTQIA+ people living with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other needs of diverse sexual and gender minorities.
Discussion of Issues
Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley speaks to the Club about how the political and economic climate impacts the LGBTQ+ community in Las Vegas, as well as how it impacts the community at large.
Activities
In addition to our large group monthly meetings, Club members have ongoing opportunities to engage with and befriend others in smaller interest group activities such as wine tasting, theater nights, dinners out, and volunteerism.
